The Isle of Wight Steam Railway is based at Haven Street Station and operates services to Wootton to the west and Smallbrook Junction in the east where an interchange is provided with Island Line Trains.  There is also a request halt at Ashey where the station building has been converted to private residential accommodation.  The railway operates  along former Ryde and Newport (later Southern Railway) lines, using steam traction.  Haven Street provides refreshment rooms, a shop, a viewing area in the workshop and Train Story, an exhibition hall with static displays and information relating to railways in general and particularly on the Isle of Wight.
